A good friend had a baby a MONTH ago. I have the gift. I literally cannot afford to mail it.
I can't pay my cable bill (fine, I only watch Yankees games and Mad Men anyway) but I do really like the internet.

I can totally commiserate. Been there and have recently been cutting corners myself. A short time ago, I had to leave clothes at the dry cleaners for over 2 months because I didn't have the money to pay the dry cleaning bill.
ReplyDeleteAnd I also had to let a cable bill go -- doubling up the following month.
Poverty does suck.
But hang in there. In the meantime, perhaps a friend could provide a small, short-term loan?
Me, I ended up tapping into my 401K! Hated to do it, but it helped get me over a hump and into a better place, so it was worth it.
Hoping things start looking up for you soon!
I, too, cashed into my 401k last year, when I was laid of in August. But man, oh man... did I pay for it this year when I did my tax. Though looking back, I would do it again because it got me through a horrible time without having to ask anyone for help. I hope it get better for you.
